From your Closet to Their Next Job Offer: PWA Dress for Success Clothing Drive

At Workhaus, community is at the heart of everything we do, and our recent donation drive is a true reflection of that spirit in action. Across all of our Toronto locations, members and teams came together to contribute gently used professional clothing and accessories in support of the Dress for Success program at PWA.

The PWA (People With AIDS Foundation) is a Toronto-based organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS. Through a wide range of essential services, including practical support, advocacy, food programs, and community-based initiatives, PWA works to uplift individuals and ensure they have access to the resources needed to live with dignity and independence.

One of the impactful initiatives supported through PWA is the Dress for Success program, which focuses on helping clients feel confident and prepared as they pursue employment opportunities. By providing access to professional clothing, styling support, and guidance, the program plays a key role in removing barriers that many individuals, especially newcomers and those facing financial hardship, experience when trying to enter the workforce. This initiative is focused on helping individuals, particularly newcomers and members of the PWA community, feel confident and prepared as they enter or re-enter the workforce. Access to professional attire can make a meaningful difference, not just in appearance, but in self-esteem, confidence, and overall readiness for interviews and employment opportunities.

The contributions from the Workhaus community will directly enhance this program, ensuring that more individuals have access to appropriate attire for interviews, networking opportunities, and their first days on the job. Beyond clothing, these donations symbolize encouragement, inclusion, and belief in each individual’s potential. The impact of this drive extends far beyond the donations themselves. For our Workhaus community, it has been an opportunity to give back in a tangible way, fostering a sense of shared purpose and collective impact. Seeing our members rally together for a cause that supports empowerment and inclusion reinforces our values.
