To celebrate Administrative Professionals’ Day, we invited the Workhaus community to nominate the incredible administrative professionals they know who keep everything running smoothly. Here are the stars they nominated!

In celebration of Administrative Professionals’ Day, we invited the Workhaus community to nominate and recognize the exceptional individuals who keep everything running behind the scenes. These dedicated administrative professionals are the backbone of their teams, and as small token of our appreciation for all their hard work, we’re sharing a special gift with each nominee.

Today, we’re proud to honour them publicly and shine a light on the vital role they play in their organizations and within our community. Below, you’ll get to know each of these incredible individuals and how their talent, dedication, and positivity uplift those around them every day.

Meet Your Administrative Superstars

Maryam Hatam, Executive Assistant at UGE

Thomas Ho nominated Maryam. Thomas said: “She is the best. Hosts events and makes an effort to ensure everyone in the company feels heard and appreciated.” 

UGE is a solar energy company working to make renewable energy accessible and affordable for all.

Jivanya Reddy nominated Kasia. Jivanya said: “Kasia Kryczmanik is a brilliant legal assistant whose exceptional skills and dedication play a vital role in our team’s success. Her sharp attention to detail, outstanding organization, and proactive approach ensures that every matter is handled with care and precision. Kasia manages complex tasks with ease, communicates with professionalism and warmth, and consistently keeps us on track. Her brilliance and reliability make her an indispensable part of our team.”

Unified LLP is a Toronto law firm offering services for a wide variety of legal matters.

Anna Persaud, Office Administrator and Grant Writer at Best Buddies Canada

Eden Platter nominated Anna. Eden said: “Anna oversees all the day to day stuff in our office and we’d truly be lost without her. From printing to ordering to answering phones to buying candy for our snack jars to sending out updates to sponsors – she does it all and goes above and beyond for our team.”

Best Buddies Canada is a non-profit organization. They work to build connections and foster friendships between those with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Carlo Querijero, Investigator at Mercury

Meghan Carver nominated Carlo. Meghan said: “Carlo works as an investigator for our company but is my go to person since I manage the Toronto office remotely. He is always eager to help, extremely supportive and reliable. I couldn’t do my job without him! It’s not in Carlo’s job description to do what he does for our Toronto office. However, he encapsulates helpfulness, kindness and is just a joy to work with. So thankful for him!”

Mercury is a financial technology company that offers simplified banking solutions to startups.

Sonja Carcasole, Executive Assistant at Ontario Trillium Foundation

Fatiha Khaldi nominated Sonja. Fatiha said: “Sonja is always ready and patient to help and offer her outstanding support to OTF teams. While most of us work remotely, she is consistently on-site, providing vital, real-time information about meeting spaces and logistics. She frequently offers help without being asked and goes above and beyond to ensure we have everything we need to work effectively. Her reliability, initiative, and presence have been invaluable to our teams’ success.”

OTF is an agency of the Ontario Government. They are one of Canada’s leading granting foundations, investing in communities across the province and helping build healthy and vibrant communities.

Aidan Beck, Operations Analyst at Greyhill Capital Partners

Liam Dougherty nominated Aiden. Liam said: “While I was away on vacation for a month, Aidan kept everything organized. We had many things going on including new staff onboarding, new property acquisitions and investments. Without his lead on coordination it wouldn’t have been possible.”

Greyhill Capital Partners is a boutique alternative investment and advisory firm. They have expertise across Real Estate, Venture Capital, and Private Debt.

Russell Polack, Staff IT Engineer at Aiven

Sonakshi Pahwa nominated Russell. Sonakshi is a Senior Office Manager at Aiven, and a much appreciated administrative professional in her own right. She said: “I nominated Russell because he consistently goes above and beyond in his role, supporting the team with unwavering dedication, professionalism, and a positive attitude. His attention to detail, proactive approach, and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities make a significant impact on our daily operations.”

Aiven is an AI-ready open source data platform company, helping organizations gain more value from their data.

Lisa Dudley, Manager of Business Operations at Thorek Scott & Partners

Enam Jiagge nominated Lisa. Enam said: “I nominated Lisa because she is so hard working and always making sure her team has everything they need on time. She is also nice to everyone, even people who aren’t part of her company and always willing to help. I see the hard work she puts in to keep things running smoothly and I think she is wonderful!”

Thorek Scott & Partners is a recruitment company working with investment management, real estate, and financial services firms.
