“We stay up to date the same way we handle our data—constantly cleaning, refreshing, and pretending the chaos is under control. Panic, Google, repeat.”

Welcome back to another Mindshare Monthly, where we ask our coworking community a question and share the answers! Our member community recently shared their favourite AI tools which gave us a snapshot of how deeply deeply ingrained these tools have become in their day-to-day lives and operations. With our interest now piqued, this month we asked our members: “How do businesses stay on top of the latest technology trends?”
As always, the responses were varied and interesting but showed some common themes. From training and upskilling, to following industry news and making the most of networking opportunities, our members shared how they keep up with the ever changing world of tech.
Keep reading for a look at the strategies they use to stay adaptable, spot opportunities early, and thrive in a world where the only constant is change.
One of the most common responses we heard was actively seeking out knowledge. Many of our members turn to courses, workshops, and training resources to keep their skills sharp.
From training and research resources to upskilling classes and courses focused on emerging technology, continuous learning is one of the most reliable ways businesses stay ahead.
Making education a regular part of your business routine helps you stay flexible, make informed decisions and spot opportunities early. Beyond the real value it brings to businesses, it’s also an investment in your personal growth.
Learning isn’t limited to the classroom. Another big theme we heard about was staying informed online. For some of our members, that means tech focused blogs, newsletters, and podcasts. For others it’s community driven spaces like Reddit. No matter the medium, carving out a little time to dig into the latest news is a simple habit that can build up your awareness and adaptability in the long-term.
Most of us are already scrolling through feeds or headlines during the day, so why not build in a few trusted tech sources while you’re at it? Turning that everyday habit into intentional trend-watching can pay off for businesses — helping you catch innovations early, stay ahead of risks, and make smarter decisions in real time.
Here are some resources to to help you stay plugged into the conversation:
While you can clearly learn a lot online, there’s no overstating the value of real-world interaction. For many of our members, attending conferences and networking events is how they keep a finger on the pulse of tech.
The nice thing about events and spaces like these is that they’re an open invitation to professionals to exchange knowledge. While events may showcase the latest tools and ideas, it’s often the conversations between professionals that help businesses understand how those innovations can actually be applied.
It’s worth mentioning that you don’t always need a ticketed event to benefit. In a coworking environment these interactions tend to happen organically. You can often discover new tools, tips and tricks through a casual conversation in the kitchen or lounge.
Whether formal or informal, these opportunities expand your perspective, offer new opportunities, and build relationships that keep you plugged into what’s new.
That’s it for this month’s Mindshare! A big thank you to all our member community for sharing their suggestions with us. From online learning to industry news to the value of real-world conversations, our community has proved that there are plenty of smart strategies to choose from when you’re keeping up with technology trends!
