Mindshare Monthly: The Workhaus Community Watchlist

We asked our coworking community to share their favourite bingeable TV shows. We went ahead and put them all together into a perfect watchlist for those cozy autumn nights on the couch.

Know Your Community

Welcome back to another Mindshare Monthly, where we ask our coworking community a question and then share the answers. The colder seasons are here and we’re all beginning to trade patio chairs for blankets and iced coffee for hot chocolate. To help prepare for a cozy autumn on the couch, we asked everyone to share their favourite bingeable TV shows and put them all together into a watchlist. We loved seeing the diverse list of shows that our community served up. From sleeper hits to viral sensations (we’re looking at you, Severance!), you’re guaranteed to find something on this watchlist that will keep you entertained!

By the Numbers:

90 members chimed in with their picks, and together they named 100 different shows. That’s a whole lot of couch time (for research purposes, of course). The suggestions crossed a truly impressive range of genres, but there were a few clear favorites.

  • Drama (61%)
  • Comedy (39%)
  • Crime/Thriller/Mystery (32%)

The most popular at all locations was drama, but that’s a flexible genre and often overlaps with others. In fact, most shows fall under multiple genres, with drama more often than not being one of them (our list includes horror drama, crime drama, medical drama, and even a martial arts comedy drama!).  So with that in mind, here’s the second most popular genre at each location, to give you a better feel for the unique tastes of each Workhaus location.

Let’s be honest, the top spots probably won’t shock you. When a show wins both critical acclaim and water-cooler status, it’s only natural that it ends up on everyone’s must-watch list. We still have to give credit where it’s due, so if you haven’t watched these yet, this is your sign!

  • Severance had 6 Votes
  • Big Bang Theory had 4 votes
  • The White Lotus, Better Call Saul, and Breaking Bad each had 3 votes

It’s no surprise these shows made the list. Severance, Apple TV+’s most-watched series of all time, is no stranger to dominating the conversation. The Big Bang Theory, with 276 episodes, is officially the longest-running multi-camera sitcom ever. Breaking Bad is a mainstay on lists of the greatest TV shows of all time (making it no surprise that its spin-off/prequel, Better Call Saul, also made the cut). And of course, The White Lotus racked up one of the largest viewership’s of any HBO program by the end of its third season.

Hidden Gems:

Not every show can be a viral sensation, and some of the best finds are the ones flying under the radar. You know those shows your friend swears are “so underrated”? Well, the list below covers those shows. According to IMDB popularity rankings, these were the deepest cuts from our community.

  • The Mole
  • Physical
  • Utopia (UK)
  • Police Squad
  • Nathan For You
  • Utopia (US)
  • The Servant
  • Wildcards
  • Danger 5
  • Comrade Detective
