TECHCareers Meet & Greet Takes Place At Workhaus

TECHCareers is a re-training program that is the result of a partnership between Manpower and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). It provides technical skills and training for developers and specialists in order to grow the tech industry in Alberta.

TECHCareers allows their students access to the skills that they need in order to thrive in today’s tech market.

 Workhaus is a big advocate of the tech industry within our communities. This is especially the case at our Calgary location as we are constantly hosting events in our Haus that support the ever-growing tech industry. Workhaus has worked with Calgary Economic Development, ATB Financial and Product Hunt YYC just to name a few. So, it was only natural that we would partner with TECHCareers to host their meet & greet with students.

TECHCareers took the time to explain the importance their program holds, as it focuses on getting displaced workers trained for jobs in the growing tech sector in Calgary.

The event was one of our biggest ones yet, with representatives from over 20 employers coming to engage with students and staff from the program.  The event provided a casual environment where students could interact with prospective employers, ask questions about the hiring processes, and generally build confidence for being in networking situations.

One of our partners, Compass Canada was gracious enough to provide coffee for the guests. With the relaxed Workhaus lounge and the atmosphere of familiarity between the teachers and staff from the program, students were able to enjoy an informative afternoon with some potential employers.
