“Love the way you work.”
Happy International Coworking Day! August 9th marks a special milestone here at Workhaus, as it celebrates the evolution of coworking. Today is a day of collaboration and a day of celebration…but of what exactly?
Workhaus thought we’d take this time to explain what makes coworking so special, or rather, what coworking with Workhaus really is.
Let’s go back to basics. In 2005, Software engineer Brad Neuberg created the concept of coworking. He described it as a space for “free spirits to come together in community” and work. Neuberg simply described his concept as “sitting at tables or relaxing on couches as we do our work.” Thus, coworking was created.
Today, that concept hasn’t changed much. Community is very much at the heart of coworking and at the heart of Workhaus. We’ve created an environment that will empower and build our community up. It’s no secret that empowering employees is imperative to the success of a business. It leads to more engaged employees, lower turnover rates, and higher productivity.
Coworking provides flexible and collaborative workspaces that connect our common core values between members and staff. Workhaus’ core values look at members who contribute to the community, that never cease to continue learning, and that strive for excellence. After all, it’s important to love what you do. We take care of everything behind the scenes, whether it be ensuring that coffee is fully stocked or planning weekly events.
Coworking is the solution for freelancers, entrepreneurs, small business owners and even for the Fortune 500. It’s the path for those attempting to balance life and work in a realistic fashion. You’re not just cutting down on your costs, but you’re joining a community. A family. And it’s because of this that Workhaus has opened our doors to you. Join Canadian made coworking and be a part of our family. Today is the first step: Guests are welcome to experience what coworking is all about at our beautiful Castle location at 212 King Street W., right across from David Pecaut Square.
