Over the weekend, the city exploded with Cinco de Mayo celebrations. But what are they really celebrating?
Did you know that Cinco de Mayo was originally a celebration to commemorate a victory? Back in 1862, the Mexican army won against occupying French forces during the Battle of Puebla. Over the years, it’s become a celebratory holiday that’s wildly associated with song and dance.
We decided that there was no better way to keep that momentum up then with a little motivational playlist to remember the importance this day has in history. This week, our playlist will honour the music of Mexico and Latin America. These songs will provide you with a great energy boost to go along with that amazing warm weather we’ve been blessed with.
Music of Mexico is originally seen to be an expression for Mexican nationalism and pride. Allow yourself to get lost in the rhythm, as music is a universal language that connects us all.
