Workhaus Celebrated International Women’s Day: See Who Won Our Prizes!

Hey Workhausers! If you weren’t there, then you missed a hell of a celebration  for International Women’s Day. Our event was in full swing as we raised awareness against gender bias and celebrated women’s achievements; balance is everything, and this year we had men and women celebrating the night. Our members came out to join in the festivities, making noise to support the movement. And when we say noise, we mean noise!

Dancing the night away to straight up female anthems, laughter and cheers flooded the halls of Commerce Court the moment you stepped off the elevator to our floor. We had wine, beer, cider, snacks and even arm wrestling matches between co-workers to keep us busy.Workhaus had the privilege of working with some amazing local venues and talent to help make the night possible. West Avenue Cider House sponsored the social with their specialized cider. They use heritage grown apples when they brew their cider in order to blend the flavour of sweet apples and floral aromas – bringing a touch of tradition to every pint glass from their family to ours.

We also had contemporary jewellery designer Blythe Cronyn donate a coupon to the Workhaus raffle. Cronyn is a Canadian designer working right here out of Toronto. She blends together the worlds of fantasy and mysticism with the natural world to create truly unique and inspiring pieces. Working with precious and organic materials, her line Elizabeth Blythe brings awareness to the environment as each piece is created with recycled metals and ethically sourced gemstones.

The raffle winners get to enjoy some West Avenue Cider House swag to take home with their jewels – don’t say we never give you anything.
