What's Happening in The Haus?

Typically, if you want to hear live music after work, you need to go to a concert, a bar, or cafe to get your fix. But, what happens when the City of Kitchener, Good Co Productions, and Workhaus bring that experience to work?

Well, we you get our Beer + Music Jam Sessions of course!

This past Wednesday, following the launch of the Mid-Week Kitchener Market and the official opening of the #MarketWalk street mural by artist Nicole Beno, Workhaus Market  hosted the first of four Beer + Music Jam Sessions and, man, what an event it was!For the first time in our company’s history, musicians took over our lounge space and we threw open our doors to invite the public in to jam along with the artists with instruments generously provided by the Kitchener Public Library. Beer from TWB Brewing was available from the bar while the Downtown Kitchener BIA generously provided complimentary light refreshments and treats for those who wanted to stay out well past the Mid-Week Market’s closing time of 8 pm.

The Mid-Week Market is a pilot based on community feedback that Kitchener residents wanted a second day of the Market. If the pilot is successful over the next three consecutive Wednesdays, the City of Kitchener will explore adding a permanent second day to go along with the popular Saturday market which attracts upwards of 10,000 each week.

Our Beer + Music Jam Sessions come as the immediate area surrounding the Market does not have a bar so if attendees what to continue the festivities, they have leave the immediate area to find a bar.

Instead, by inviting the community to come and perform, we’re helping to keep people in the area, supporting the community, and having a lot of fun celebrating the start of summer with our members and the public.

The Beer + Music Jam Session runs from 8-11 pm on July 3, 10, and 17 at Workhaus Market.
