Last week we hosted a special social in honour of Movember. We held it to support all the people who had, despite their best interests, grew a moustache. For the people who relentlessly raised funds for such a worthy cause. And for people whose lives have been affected by cancer.
The night was a resounding success! Of course a special thank you goes to Jim Sullivan, our guest speaking that took time out of his busy schedule to talk to everyone about the importance of being your own advocate when it comes to your health. Jim is a prostate cancer survivor himself, and he knows the importance of not being afraid of talking about your own health…even if your doctor doesn’t want to. It was a really inspirational speech and we are so thankful for him being able to tell us his story.
All the members who were there and a great time catching up and networking with their fellow members over some delicious drinks and food. Some people even took the time to get a haircut courtesy of Camden Barbers and will no doubt be looking fresh for the holiday season.
We would be remiss to not mention the amazing companies who donated prizes for our guests with the best moustaches, Kit and Ace, Dine Alone Records, Northern Standard Trading Post, Leeloodles and Camp Tech as well as our wonderful partners, Bearface Whiskey, StoryTeller Beer, Garden Gangster and Camden Barbers who kept our guests satiated and groomed the whole night.
All in all, we raised $1,025.00 which will help men fight and raise awareness. So thank you to everyone again who participated, raised funds, grew moustaches and overall made the event a success.
As December hits, we’re finally allowing ourselves to listen to the holiday classics. This playlist is full of them, but with a Canadian twist. Please enjoy some of your favourite holiday tunes sung by Canadian Musicians new and old alike
