Last week, Workhaus celebrated Oktoberfest the only way we know how, with our Members, good music and craft beer. We had approximately 200 guests pour into the lounge of our Commerce Court location to explore the Craft beer scene that was being hosted in our Haus.
Riding the elevator all the way up to the 5th floor, you could hear guest chatting away before the doors even opened. We decided to put a new swing on Oktoberfest this year, bringing together 6 major Canadian breweries in the city for a chance to win the best beer that night. The winner would receive a 1 month free membership courtesy of yours truly.
Mill Street, Mascot Brewery, Henderson, Lost Craft, Northern Maverick and Storyteller all got together to bring their A-Game.
With lagers, sours, IPA’s, and even a gin beer, our guests had a hard time narrowing down on their favourite pick. But by the nights’ end, the people had spoken, and the winner was…drum roll please…
STORYTELLER!
It seems that many could not resist that sweet taste of honey with a hint of gin with their cocktail Bees Knees can.
Catering was handled by Feed Me Fine Foods, who not only had their catering staff serving all of our guests, but they created a custom Oktoberfest menu just for us.
“We’re so lucky to be in a community that provides events like this! We could all be stuck in some boring office somewhere talking to no one. I love being in this community” – Workhaus Member Duff Young
Our lounge was decked out to the fullest with the best October swag. There had to have been a hundred pumpkins alone. With our community of Toronto businesses, old and new members, Oktoberfest was one that we’re likely never going to forget.
